Yàrá Kíláàsì (The Classroom)
A short play by Lanre Danmola about three Nigerian fathers summoned to a classroom where their sons are the teachers.
Loud Olawale measures his boy in grades, blunt Chijioke equates love with toughness, and quiet Adesina hides behind silence. Guided by The Man, a fluid, grounded figure who makes them touch, dance and listen, the fathers are confronted with the lessons they never learned: how to hold, how to soften, how to say I love you. Moving between Yoruba and English, the play asks what sons can teach fathers about love.
It was selected for Psychonaut Scratch at Theatre Deli, London (September 2025), directed by Annie Araba, with Danmola performing as The Man alongside Onosky Ujorha, Jake Bryan-Amaning and Elijah Duma.
